Utrecht. Provinciale muntslag. Zilveren Dukaton (Zilveren Rijder) 1794 - Bijna ongecirculeerd (aUNC) - Schitterende muntkleur EN: Utrecht. Provincial coinage. Omschrift: MO. NO. ARG. PRO. CON - FOE. BELG. TRAI. Technische specificaties: Emittent: Provincie Utrecht. Denominatie: Dukaton (Zilveren Rijder). Jaartal: 1794. Referenties: Delmonte 1031; Verkade 100.3. Materiaal: Zilver (Ag 0.941). Kwaliteit: Bijna ongecirculeerd (aUNC) met prachtige patina. --- A museum-quality specimen of the silver Ducatoon, famously known as the Silver Rider, struck by the Province of Utrecht in the year 1794. This date is of significant historical interest, as it represents one of the very final issues of the Ducatoon before the fall of the Dutch Republic and the onset of the Batavian period. This particular piece is preserved in an extraordinary state of conservation: Almost Uncirculated (aUNC). The strike is bold and well-centered, ensuring that every intricate detail of the knight's armour, the lions' manes, and the legends remains needle-sharp. A standout feature of this specimen is its magnificent cabinet toning; a deep, iridescent patina that has developed over decades, highlighting the coin's superb silver surfaces and historical character. Design: Obverse: An armoured knight with a flowing sash on a galloping horse to the right. Below the horse, the crowned provincial coat of arms of Utrecht. Legend: MO. NO. ARG. PRO. CON - FOE. BELG. TRAI. Reverse: The crowned coat of arms of the States-General supported by two rampant lions. The date 1794 is positioned at the bottom within an ornamental cartouche. Legend: CONCORDIA RES PARVÆ CRESCVNT. Edge: Features the characteristic corded (kabel) edge of the late 18th century. Technical Specifications: Issuer: Province of Utrecht. Denomination: Ducatoon (Silver Rider). Year: 1794. References: Delmonte 1031; Verkade 100.3. Metal: Silver (Ag 0.941). Grade: Choice aUNC with exceptional toning. See images for correct impressio
