The "Type-VI" Santa Claus Vignette Excessively rare and represented by only two notes in issued form. The "Type-VI" Santa Claus vignette is the second rarest of all the vignettes described by Roger H. Durand in Interesting Notes About Christmas save for the enigmatic "Type-VII" which eludes collectors in any form. Here the depiction of Santa Claus echoes the depiction favored by the Saint Nicholas Bank which used a composition dubbed the "Type-II," but considering the rarity of the "Type-VI" even in Proof form, it takes little to reason that this item offers a real opportunity to be had. Our Summer 2026 Global Showcase Auction (Lot 20196) realized a record-breaking figure of $46,360 for this vignette in issued form against a conservative estimate suggesting that our estimate here may also prove to be rather conservative in retrospect. Estimate: $15,000 - $25,000. Provenance: From the Caine Collection. Earlier ex. Roger H. Durand Santa Claus Collection.

Estimate:£6,729.22
