Nice indie - oil paint - Itam - Indonesia - 20th century

Beautiful and atmospheric oil painting in the tradition of the 'Mooi Indië' (Indonesian) School. The artwork depicts a serene, sun-drenched tropical landscape with characteristic tall palm trees, dense vegetation, and a traditional hut along a sandy path. On the path a figure is seen walking with a carrying pole or basket, which gives the composition a beautiful dynamism and depth. The painting is clearly hand-signed in the bottom left with "Itam" in contrasting red paint. Works from this region and style uniquely capture the warm, atmospheric light of the former Dutch East Indies / Indonesia. • Technique: Oil on canvas (or panel/board - please check and adjust yourself) • Signature: Hand-signed bottom left (Itam) • Period: 20th century • Condition: The painting is in good vintage condition with a lovely texture in the paint. The wooden frame has a modern, light wood-grain appearance that gives the work a fresh presentation.
