Discover among my 24 listings a unique historic assemblage, kept intact and preserved within my family for over 70 years, because a former family member worked at the prestigious Bureau of Geological and Mining Research (BRGM) during the 1950s. These pieces are part of a spectacular field collection. The collection is documented by its wooden transport case with colonial BRGM Natitingou-Dahomey inscriptions, the former name of present-day Benin; it is also documented by an exceptional set of 26 geological charts with explanatory notes dating from surveys conducted between 1935 and 1961. You will find among my 24 sales an exceptional King Manilla weighing over 3.8 kg. Each lot (24 in total) is a fragment of this historic geological expedition. Magnificent pairs of brass or bronze manacles, originating from West Africa, which served as prestigious adornments or as ethical exchange currency. Remarkable chisel work and engraving with traditional motifs, one weighing 434 grams and the other 337 grams. Fine vintage condition with its original patina intact. Authentic collectible piece.
