icole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. Her work is characterized by an innovative and idiosyncratic approach to abstract art, where painting, relief, and sculptural elements come together. With rich colors, layered structures, and diverse materials, she creates powerful works around themes such as resilience, movement, strength, and transformation. Lubbers was named Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro, and placed second at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. She was also listed among the world’s 100 best female artists and recognized as a Master in Art. Internationally, her work has been seen and is planned for exhibitions in New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China, and Montecosaro, in addition to exhibitions in Dutch galleries. A notable highlight is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. Additionally, Nicole, together with artist Michael Lam, presents the exhibition Harmony in Motion: Two Artists, One Vision. Here Lam’s flowing Single Stroke Painting meets Lubbers’ expressive, layered structures. The color purple forms the connecting line between two different artistic languages and symbolizes creativity, spirituality, and transformation. Nicole Lubbers’s work is more than decoration.
