Her works, often characterized by dynamic forms and vibrant colors, have inspired numerous artists and have themselves influenced many. Saint Phalle was a prominent member of the Nouveaux Réalistes and worked closely with artists such as Jean Tinguely. Saint Phalle's sculptural and often monumental compositions find parallels in the works of artists like Claes Oldenburg and Yayoi Kusama, who also create large-scale and colorful works. Saint Phalle's unique visual language also influenced contemporary artists such as Jeff Koons and Takashi Murakami. In the modern art scene, her influence can be seen in the works of artists such as Kiki Smith and Louise Bourgeois, whose figurative and often emotional works address feminist and social themes in a similar way. The works of Jenny Holzer and Barbara Kruger also bear traces of Saint Phalle's aesthetic and substantive influences.
