** The idea for this painting originated in Barcelona. The color palette is inspired by the warm Spanish light and the earthy tones of the city. Small cacti are incorporated into the composition, referencing Mediterranean vegetation. The flower motif is based on the iconic Panot de Flor: the stylized cement tile pattern commonly found in the streets of Barcelona. This is a unique, hand-finished work, created through drawing and painting. The artwork is based on an ink print, mounted on wood and professionally framed. ** ARTIST PROFILE NIKKE NAEME (1984) is a multidisciplinary artist from the Netherlands whose work delves deep into the human psyche and behavior - particularly its darker, more fragile sides. While formally restrained, the work holds a quiet emotional charge, engaging themes of human imperfection, doubt, vulnerability, and the fragile balance between control and exposure. Through an ongoing exploration of contrast, the work reveals a complex, dual character that calls perception itself into question. NIKKE’s paintings are held in private collections around the world and are regularly exhibited in Amsterdam.
