Curated collection of antique, vintage and modern rugs No Reserve - Antique Serapi Rug, Northwest Persia, circa 1880 Size: 6 ft 2 in x 4 ft 5 in (1.88 m x 1.35 m) Provenance: Property of a French collector A striking small-format Serapi distinguished by the bold geometric character and commanding visual presence associated with the finest village carpets of northwest Persia. Serapis are typically encountered in substantially larger rooms, making this intimate format particularly appealing to collectors. The strongly articulated drawing, contrasting color relationships, and vigorous execution give the rug an architectural quality far beyond its scale.
