MUREX PECTEN The Venus comb is a marine gastropod of the genus Murex. The species is widespread in the Indo-Pacific area, predominantly in the tropical belt. The typical habitat is that of a coral reef at depths ranging from 0 to 340 m. The extremely long siphonal canal and the numerous lateral spines are the most evident characteristics of the shell of this mollusk. Like other species of the same genus, M. pecten is a predatory gastropod that feeds on other mollusks. pedestal not included. A necessary clarification. The purpose is purely aesthetic but also exemplificative at the same time: it shows the real object inside an artificially generated scenography.
