No Reserve - Monumental Mahal Carpet, Central Persia circa 1920 -

Curated collection of antique, vintage and modern rugs No Reserve - Monumental Mahal Carpet, Central Persia circa 1920 Size: 19 ft 7 in x 13 ft 2 in (5.96 m x 4.01 m) Provenance: From a private home in Los Angeles A monumental Mahal carpet combining an expansive room-size format with the relaxed, expressive drawing associated with central Persian weaving. Mahal carpets are particularly admired for their decorative adaptability. Their large-scale floral patterns, balanced repetition, and warm colors create visual interest without competing with surrounding architecture and furniture. At nearly twenty feet in length, this example can anchor a grand living room, dining room, gallery or open-plan residence. Its impressive proportions are especially valuable because authentically handwoven carpets of this scale are increasingly difficult to source.
