It is certified by NGTC as natural Type A jadeite (Feicui), with the gold confirmed as Au750. The jadeite has been carved into a graceful, softly rounded organic form. A central ridge runs the full length of the piece, and pairs of curving ridges sweep outwards and downwards from it, giving the carving a sense of rhythm and natural movement. The edges are gently shaped with small notches, and the carved channels have been polished so they catch and guide the light across the surface. The jadeite is light green and highly translucent, with soft deeper green tones drifting through its body. Its cool glow comes alive in changing light, especially where the carving thins and the light passes through. The certificate notes a fibrous interwoven structure, which is characteristic of genuine jadeite. The pendant hangs from an 18K gold bail with a pierced pattern of round shapes with square centres, reminiscent of traditional Chinese coins.
