ORWAY. Gold Off-Metal Strike 24 Skilling, 1745. Kongsberg Mint. Christian VI. NGC AU Details--Edge Filing. Fr-unlisted; KM-232.3 (silver); Hede-4C (silver); Sieg-4.3 (silver); Delzanno-18c (gold); NMD-16 (silver); Schou-2a (gold); Bruun-10703. Weight: 8.07 gms. Mintmaster: Truls Andersen Lyng (TL). Engraver: Erasmus Simon Kongsberg (?). The lower reverse edge rim has been filed to test the gold. Strong and lustrous strike. Although it is difficult to distinguish any details from an earlier strike, the weight indicates that this excessively rare (unique?) and interesting piece could have been struck on a French Louis d'or. Estimate: €8,000 - €10,000. Provenance: From the L.E. Bruun Collection. To view supplemental information and all items from the L.E. Bruun Collection, click here. Please note: Bid amounts do not include VAT. Buyers which are non-VAT registered entities or individuals who take delivery of lots within EU countries subject to margin scheme taxation will be invoiced a VAT charge and a Buyer’s Premium for a total of 27.5% based upon the total amount of the hammer.
