Canadian. A finely crafted Nova Scotia dovetailed deed box in original paint with a chip-carved sawtooth border framing a scrolled dart and vine carved motif on the top. The dark original surface is finely crazed and the details are accented with coral paint. Very good condition with original hinges and lock. Ex. Henry Dobson, Meiklejohn collection. Nova Scotia. Early 19th century. Unmarked.
