Type: Unclassified HED achondrite meteorite Weight: 14.3 g Find location: Mauritania Year found: 2018 Fusion crust: Partially visible Authentic specimen of an unclassified HED meteorite (Howardite–Eucrite–Diogenite), found in Mauritania in 2018 and preserved in its natural state. This type of meteorite originates from differentiated materials of rocky bodies in the solar system and has a composition rich in silicate minerals. HED meteorites are especially interesting due to their relationship with the materials of asteroid Vesta and the information they can provide about the formation and evolution of planetary bodies.
