Nyack, New York. Rockland County Bank. 1860 $3. PMG Very Fine 25.

yack, New York. Rockland County Bank. 1860 $3. PMG Very Fine 25. No. 2890. Plate A. Spared from the redemption efforts of the 1860s. This evenly circulated $3 Obsolete issued by the Rockland County Bank during the 1860s is every bit deserving of its proverbial laurels. In visual terms, this piece offers much that can be appreciated from the vignette of the SS Armenia seen at center to greens and blacks emphasized by various engraved elements found throughout the design. Penned signatures attributable to Cashier (Dr.) Anthony D. Morford and President (Captain) Isaac Peter Smith are bold and highly original providing a tantalizingly honest link to the leadership of this institution that ultimately became the Rockland County National Bank of Nyack (Charter# 1286) in 1865. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Provenance: From the Caine Collection. Click here for certification details from PMG.
