NYX - Crimson Ceremony – L’Impératrice de Porcelaine

--- History of the Artwork --- Under the vast red umbrella that unfolds behind her like a halo, a woman appears in a moment of ceremonial silence. Her ivory face tilts slightly, eyes lowered, while the red flowers that adorn her headdress seem to extend those on her garment. Crimson Ceremony – The Porcelain Empress explores a more flamboyant facet of the PorcelainMuse universe. The traditional dialogue between porcelain and Asian ornamentation abandons cobalt blue for a palette dominated by deep red, ivory white, black and golden tones. The character seems almost shaped from ancient porcelain. On her outfit, a multitude of flowers and motifs overlap like the meticulous decorations of a precious object. The cracks and apparent irregularities deliberately break this perfection: behind the finery there remains a form of fragility. The parasol plays a major role in the composition. Deployed behind the silhouette, it creates a circular architecture that isolates the character from the outside world and gives her an almost iconic presence. But despite the richness of the ornaments, her expression remains deeply inward. She does not look at the viewer or at what surrounds her. Her tilted face introduces a contrast between the power of appearance and the silence of the intimate. Thus the work evokes a woman confined for a moment within the ceremonial of her own beauty: majestically outward, inaccessible and silent inward. A creation conceived as the meeting between porcelain, Asian tradition, femininity and contemporary art. --- Technique and Creation Process --- This work stems from an original digital painting, notably worked with the help of Photoshop and Krita. The artistic creation rests on digital work of composition, colors, textures, light and details, allowing the character and her universe to be progressively built. Once the creation is finalized, an artificial intelligence tool may intervene only in a technical phase of improving image definition, in particular to increase resolution and reduce pixellation before transfer to the physical medium. Artificial intelligence is also used as a drafting assistance tool to structure and develop the detailed description accompanying the presentation of the work in this submission.
