O'Galop ( 1867-1946 ) - Nunc est Bibendum - 1970s

Fascinating Michelin advertising poster depicting Bibendum, the famous “Michelin Little Man,” during an ironic toast with a cup filled with nails, glass, and other road obstacles. The composition reinterprets the famous poster conceived by the French illustrator O’Galop, pseudonym of Marius Rossillon, with the historic phrases “Nunc est bibendum,” “À votre santé” and “Le pneu Michelin boit l’obstacle.” The image symbolically celebrates the resilience of Michelin tires, capable of “drinking” and overcoming obstacles. One of the most iconic advertising images in the history of the automobile, particularly interesting for collectors of Michelin, Bibendum, automobilia, tires, French graphics, and vintage posters. . The poster features undulations, light folds and normal signs compatible with age and preservation, as clearly visible in the photographs. Note: This is probably a later edition from the 1970s.
