Obsidian necklace adorned with a pendant representing a cross entirely formed by sculpted skulls. Cross - Memento Mori Spiritual Weapon – Power of Decision. A Gothic-style necklace bearing the great cross carved with a skull at its heart, emblem of forged strength to impose the power of the guardians of the night and to endure trials without bowing. This obsidian, contemporary necklace combines the raw power of the stone with an imposing cross made up of finely sculpted skulls. It imposes lucidity and radical decisions in the face of destiny. The Memento Mori ("Remember that you will die") is a historic iconographic genre that spans the centuries, from Roman antiquity to the Baroque Vanities of the 17th century. Far beyond a simple evocation of the end, the skull acts as a spiritual catalyst designed to break the illusions of permanence and futility. This cross, structured by a repetition of crania, functions as a spiritual guide. It recalls the urgency of existence, turning each second into a decree of will. In medieval oratories, these representations were used to sharpen the mind and focus action on the essentials of inner development. This necklace imposes unfailing insight. It dissolves hesitation and encourages acting with the swiftness of sovereign minds who measure the true value of time. It acts as a shield of brutal realism, imposing immediate-action authority on every trial of life. Dimensions: - necklace length: 54.7 cm. - weight: 64 g. - obsidian beads: 0.8 cm (approximately). - intricately worked silver-toned metal pendant: 5.8 x 3.9 cm. The Memento Mori Cross: A classic of monastic art, reminding us that every minute is a sovereign decision. The accumulation of skulls forms a collective bulwark against the dispersion of the spirit and worldly distractions. The Macabre Iconography: Used by knightly orders and scholars, this aesthetic aimed to harden the will. The polished gleam of the pendant captures light to better highlight the depth of the orbits, symbolizing the gaze that sees through deceptive appearances. The dark base of volcanic rock The dark, smooth beads supporting the talisman evoke rock molten in the silence of the abysses. Alien to mineralogical discourse, this mineral matter provides a rock-hard base and absolute dark neutrality, acting as a terrestrial shield around the neck. The photos were taken under LED lighting with dedicated photographic equipment to accurately reproduce the details, reliefs, and nuances of the object. Some precious and semi-precious stones may be subject to traditional treatments intended to enhance their color or transparency. No specific gemological examination has been performed on this piece.
