This extraordinary Ocean Jasper freeform impresses with its imposing size, the distinctive natural shape, and a fascinating interplay of warm red, rust, brown, gold, green, and cream colors. The polished surface vividly highlights the stone's different structures and, depending on the viewing angle, continually produces new color and depth effects. Characteristic are the irregularly blending areas and high-contrast markings that give this piece its unmistakable character. Ocean Jasper is used in trade as a designation for orbicular or spheroidal jasper and chalcedony materials and is particularly known from the northwest coast of Madagascar. This freeform shows an especially earthy, powerful color palette with numerous natural inclusions, fine lines, and exciting transitions that evoke an abstract landscape. The high-gloss polish additionally creates an impressive interplay between the lightly translucent areas and the opaque, intensely colored sections. An extraordinary collectible and at the same time a decorative work of natural art, which due to its unique pattern and form represents a true one-off.
