Larimar is a rare stone originating exclusively from the Dominican Republic, appreciated for its hues reminiscent of tropical waters. This cabochon is of very fine quality and set in rhodium-plated solid silver. Local legends suggest that it is the fruit of mermaids' tears. These tales add to its mystique and appeal. In crystal healing, larimar is often associated with several virtues. It is said to promote tranquility of mind, inner peace and relaxation. It helps to calm strong emotions and to foster harmonious communication. Larimar is also regarded as a stone that promotes emotional and spiritual healing and encourages self-expression; it gives the wearer a sense of calm and well-being. One-of-a-kind piece, each stone is unique in its natural pattern. Rhodium plating is a finishing treatment applied at the end of manufacture that coats the silver with a thin layer of rhodium, a precious metal in the platinum family. It provides the piece with increased resistance to oxidation and an intense white shine, while highlighting every detail of the jewelry. A proven technique used by major jewelry houses. 1.
