oil paint on canvas - J Tan - Indonesia - 20th century

Offered is a beautiful and atmospheric oil painting on canvas, depicting a wide tropical landscape with a prominently portrayed flamboyant tree (Pohon Flamboyan) at the center. The tree stands out due to its characteristic layered, deep-red foliage, which beautifully contrasts with the serene, subdued tones of the cloudy sky and the meadows in the background. The work is clearly hand-signed by the artist in the bottom right with 'J. Tan'. The composition and subject breathe the spirit of the Indonesian landscape tradition. The painting is mounted in a classic white-painted wooden quality frame that gives the piece a fresh and timeless appearance. Tan). • Subject: Tropical landscape with flamboyant / fire tree and sandy path. • Frame: Includes wooden framing (ready to hang). • Canvas condition: In good vintage condition with a beautiful, natural craquelé that contributes to the authentic character of the work.
