Old oil-lamp niche - Rajasthan - Stone - India - 19th - early 20th century

Old niche finely carved in a pinkish-colored stone typical of Rajasthan. These niches framed the entrance of havelis in pairs. They housed a terracotta bowl filled with oil in which a cotton wick rested. These oil lamps usually burned all night. The presented niche is in perfect condition and ready to illuminate your interior or your garden (frost-resistant stone). Antique dealer specializing in Asian arts, my positive rating is 100%. I sell only old objects acquired on-site during my numerous travels. They are by no means reproductions. To allow you to appreciate the quality of the object, I am attaching numerous photos taken from various angles. These photos are an integral part of the description. Carefully packaged, this object will be delivered to your home by Belgian post (bpost Belgium). Ref: B 3
