Olivetti - Studio BBPR - Spazio - Bookcase - Metal

BBPR Studio Library for Olivetti Spazio An icon of Italian industrial design and postwar office furniture, the bookshelf from the 'Spazio' series is presented in this auction as an exceptional example of modularity and functionality. Characterized by the color combination typical of Olivetti production, this model represents a milestone in design history. Design and history: The distinctive feature of the Spazio bookshelf is its innovative self-supporting modular system. The structure is made up of sturdy vertically oriented metal sheet uprights, featuring a series of perforations that allow extreme flexibility in placing the shelves. The uprights are joined by black metal crosspieces, both upper and lower, which guarantee structural stability, creating a rigorous and functional geometric design. The history of the Spazio series is intrinsically linked to the philosophy of Adriano Olivetti, who conceived the office not as a mere place of work, but as an environment where aesthetics, functionality, and technology blend to improve the quality of working life. Lot conditions: The Olivetti bookshelf on auction presents itself in excellent used condition. Structure: the metal framework is solid and robust. The uprights and shelves retain their structural integrity and the original beige/greenish paint, which shows only minor signs of wear that testify to the piece’s originality. The adjustable feet are all functional, guaranteeing stability and the ability to level on irregular surfaces. Dimensions: Width: 203 cm Depth: 32 cm Height: 200 cm Don’t miss the opportunity to acquire this extraordinary Olivetti bookshelf from the BBPR Series “Spazio,” an authentic masterpiece of Italian industrial design that will enrich your space, whether home or office, with style. The Designers: Studio BBPR Founded in 1932 in Milan by Gian Luigi Banfi (1910-1945), Lodovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso (1909-2004), Enrico Peressutti (1908-1976) and Ernesto Nathan Rogers (1909-1969), Studio BBPR was one of the most influential architecture and design studios of the 20th century. Famous for their rationalist yet context-aware approach (think of the Torre Velasca in Milan), their furniture is distinguished by geometric rigor, functionality, and an innate technical elegance. The Manufacturer: Olivetti Founded in 1908, Olivetti was not only a leading company in the production of typewriters and calculators but a true cultural laboratory. The Synthesis division was created to design office furniture that embodied the company philosophy: avant-garde design in service of mankind. The Synthesis collections, including the “Spazio” series, are icons in the history of Italian industrial design. Shipping and Insurance: Our company ORVETT includes shipping insurance in the stated shipping costs. For overseas shipping, the cost is indicative.
