Offered in this auction by Second Vintage This classic vintage Omega dress watch presents a highly attractive combination of mid-century elegance and robust mechanical engineering. Characterized by its heavy 80-micron gold-plated case and an exceptionally clean silver sunburst dial, the watch retains a striking visual presence. Driven by the reliable Omega caliber 610 manual-wind movement, it offers a superb opportunity to acquire a well-preserved and highly capable dress watch from one of Switzerland's most respected makers. Brand: Omega Reference Number: 132001 Serial Number: 17547193 Movement: Manual-winding caliber 610, 17 jewels Dial: Silver sunburst with applied indices Case Size: 35 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Gold-plated (80 microns), stainless steel caseback Production Year: circa 1960 Condition: Good vintage condition. Timegrapher: +8+10s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The exceptionally clean and well-preserved dial features a refined silver sunburst finish. The applied Omega logo and black-striped indices remain crisp and prominent against the radiant surface, with only very minor dust or spotting visible under close inspection. The original stick hands feature black inserts that complement the dial markers, showing age-appropriate oxidation and minor spotting on their metal surfaces. Case and Crystal The case features a heavy 80-micron gold-plated finish over a stainless steel caseback. It displays honest wear, showing moderate scratches and handling marks throughout. There is notable green verdigris and oxidation buildup around the caseback seating area and between the lugs, along with some visible plating wear on the lug edges. The smooth gold-plated bezel, integrated directly with the case, shows light scratches consistent with the rest of the watch. The crown is signed with the Omega logo and exhibits noticeable plating wear on its knurled edges. The domed acrylic crystal remains clear, with no major scratches, cracks, or crazing visible. Movement Inside beats the Omega caliber 610 manual-wind movement, featuring 17 jewels and adjusted to two positions. The movement displays a clean copper-colored finish with crisp, clear engravings reading OMEGA WATCH Co, SWISS, 17547193, 610, ADJUSTED TWO (2) POSITIONS, and SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS. There is no significant corrosion or damage visible, though minor marks are present on some of the screw heads. Testing on the timegrapher yields a rate of +8+10s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is fitted with an attractive brown leather strap featuring contrast stitching. The strap shows light wear and creasing. Condition Good vintage condition. The dial and crystal are exceptionally well-preserved, while the heavy gold-plated case displays honest wear, including moderate scratches, plating wear on the lug edges and crown, and notable oxidation and verdigris buildup around the caseback junction and lugs. The movement is running beautifully, supported by strong timegrapher results. Dimensions The case measures 35 mm in diameter, excluding the crown. Remarks This classic vintage Omega dress watch provides a compelling mix of mid-century design and dependable mechanical performance. Its exceptionally clean silver sunburst dial, robust caliber 610 movement, and substantial 80-micron gold-plated case make it a desirable acquisition for any enthusiast of traditional Swiss watchmaking.
