Presented for auction by Second Vintage A classic and recognizable Omega Constellation design. This particular example distinguishes itself through a captivating black textured dial, offering a refined contrast to the brushed stainless steel of the integrated case and bracelet. Brand: Omega Model: Constellation Reference Number: 396.1201 Serial Number: 58056075 Movement: Quartz, Omega Caliber 1532 Dial: Black textured with applied indices and date Case Size: 34 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless steel Production Year: 1990s Condition: Good vintage condition. Applied silver-tone indices with luminous tips mark the hours, complemented by an applied Omega logo and the signature Constellation star in the lower half. A cleanly framed date window is positioned at three o'clock. The dial surface is remarkably well-preserved, showing no visible spotting, staining, or damage. Sweeping above are original silver-tone dauphine hands with luminous inserts. These hands display age-related wear, specifically some visible oxidation and spotting that is most pronounced on the minute hand, adding honest character to the display. Case and Crystal The stainless steel case is well-preserved with honest signs of use, primarily light scratches and scuffs consistent with normal wear over the decades. There are no major dents or deep gouges visible. The brushed finish of the case flows smoothly into the integrated bracelet, accented by the polished finish of the signature claws located at three and nine o'clock on the brushed steel bezel. The bezel also features clearly engraved Roman numerals. A knurled crown sits on the right flank. The watch is fitted with a flat sapphire crystal that remains clear with no visible scratches or chips. On the reverse, the caseback displays the embossed Observatory medallion surrounded by eight stars. Movement Inside the case beats the Omega Caliber 1532, a reliable six-jewel Swiss quartz movement. The caliber presents a very clean appearance with the battery clearly visible and no signs of corrosion or damage present on the module. The movement was serviced on 9 October 2026. Strap The watch is fitted with its original signed integrated stainless steel bracelet. The brushed links feature polished accents that complement the case finishing. The bracelet shows light scratches and scuffs from normal use, aligning perfectly with the wear on the case. It secures to the wrist with a clasp bearing a gold-tone Omega logo. The bracelet accommodates a maximum wrist size of 18.5 cm. Condition Good vintage condition. The movement was serviced on 9 October 2026. The dial is exceptionally clean and highly legible, while the original hands exhibit noticeable oxidation. The stainless steel case, bezel, and original integrated bracelet display light, honest scratches and scuffs expected from normal wear, with no deep gouges or significant structural damage. The sapphire crystal is free of scratches. Dimensions The case measures 34 mm in diameter, excluding the crown. Remarks This Constellation offers a highly wearable 34 mm profile with the visual intrigue of a textured black dial. The combination of the serviced quartz movement, the original integrated bracelet, and the enduring Manhattan design makes this a compelling choice for any collector seeking a refined daily wearer. History The Omega Constellation line has long been a symbol of the brand's dedication to precision and elegant design. The famous Manhattan style, introduced in the early 1980s, revolutionized the collection with its integrated bracelet and distinctive claws gripping the crystal. The caseback Observatory medallion, surrounded by eight stars, pays tribute to Omega's historical precision records set at the Kew-Teddington and Geneva observatories. Powered by the reliable Caliber 1532 quartz movement, this specific reference successfully carries the aesthetic hallmarks of the Constellation family into the 1990s.
