Presented for auction by Second Vintage A quintessential vintage Omega dress watch, this late 1960s Genève features an exceptionally clean silver sunburst dial with striking black-inserted applied indices. Brand: Omega Model: Geneve Reference Number: 165.041 Serial Number: 26864624 Movement: Automatic Caliber 552 Dial: Silver sunburst with applied indices and black inserts Case Size: 34 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless steel Production Year: 1968 Condition: Good vintage condition. Timegrapher: +1+3s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The exceptionally clean and attractive silver sunburst dial is beautifully preserved. It features an applied Omega logo and crisp, fully legible printing. The applied indices are detailed with striking black inserts and intact luminous dots. The original stick hands, which also feature black inserts and luminous material, show light age-appropriate wear, with minor oxidation and light surface wear visible under magnification. Case and Crystal The stainless steel case presents in honest vintage condition with preserved factory finishes, featuring brushed upper surfaces and polished flanks. The edges remain relatively well-defined, with light surface scratches consistent with normal wear. The smooth polished bezel is integrated into the case design and shows light surface scratches consistent with the rest of the case. The signed Omega crown is present, showing some wear and dirt accumulation in the logo grooves. The caseback features ACIER INOXYDABLE engraved on the interior. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, remaining clear with no major scratches or cracks visible, showing only minor surface wear typical of acrylic. Movement Powering this timepiece is the automatic Omega Caliber 552, featuring 24 jewels and the copper-colored finish typical of vintage Omega. The plates and bridges appear generally clean, while the rotor shows some surface spotting and wear. The movement is properly engraved with the Omega signature, caliber number, and matching serial number. The timegrapher records a rate of +1+3s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is fitted with a complementary black leather strap featuring white contrast stitching, which appears lightly used. Condition Good vintage condition. The stainless steel case and polished bezel display honest wear with preserved factory finishes and light surface scratches. The dial is exceptionally well-preserved and attractive, while the original hands show minor oxidation visible under magnification. The acrylic crystal and leather strap show only light wear. Supported by the timegrapher reading of +1+3s/day, the movement is performing very strongly. Dimensions The case measures 34 mm in diameter (excluding the crown). Remarks This Geneve is notable for its exceptionally clean silver sunburst dial and striking black-inserted indices.
