The surface is well-preserved with no visible staining or significant degradation. The gold-tone baton hands feature black inserts and luminous tips, showing minor surface oxidation and aging visible under magnification. The lume plots on the hands show consistent aging with the luminous material on the dial. Case and Crystal The tonneau or barrel-shaped gold-tone case features honest wear with moderate surface scratches and handling marks throughout. There is visible plating loss on the tips of the lugs, particularly on the top left and bottom left extremities. The stainless steel caseback displays a well-defined classic Seamaster hippocampus medallion. The watch is fitted with a gold-tone knurled crown, signed with the Omega logo, which shows some wear to the plating on its knurled edges. The domed acrylic crystal exhibits light surface scratches and minor wear consistent with age, with no deep cracks or chips visible. Movement Inside the case beats the Omega Caliber 565 automatic movement, featuring 24 jewels and a date complication. The copper-colored plating is bright and well-preserved, with clean bridges and a clean rotor. Engravings including "OMEGA WATCH Co SWISS", "TWENTY-FOUR 24 JEWELS", "Ω 565", and the serial number "34037704" are clearly visible. There are no visible signs of corrosion, moisture damage, or significant tool marks. On the timegrapher, the watch measures -9-11s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is fitted with a complementary brown leather strap with contrast stitching. The strap shows light wear and creasing from previous use. Condition Good vintage condition. The dial is exceptionally clean and attractive, while the hands show light, age-appropriate patina and minor oxidation. The gold-tone case displays moderate surface scratches and visible plating loss on the lug extremities, alongside wear on the signed crown. The domed acrylic crystal has light surface wear. Supported by the recorded timegrapher data, the movement is running strongly. Dimensions The case measures 36mm in diameter (excluding the crown). Remarks This Seamaster offers a highly attractive "sparkle" textured dial that sets it apart from standard variations. Paired with the robust Caliber 565 and a classic tonneau case, it is a charming and reliable vintage watch. History The Omega Seamaster line has long been celebrated for its durability and enduring design. By the early 1970s, Omega was producing distinctive tonneau or barrel-shaped cases, such as the reference 166.067, which offered a substantial presence on the wrist. This era also saw the use of the highly regarded Caliber 565, a 24-jewel automatic movement known for its reliability and practical date complication. Examples featuring unique dial textures, like the "stardust" or "sparkle" finishes, remain particularly appreciated by collectors for their dynamic visual character.
