onbekend - Side table - Marble - Elegant French guéridon

A very graceful octagonal side table in French Louis XVI style, presumably dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century. This elegant piece of furniture stands out for its refined design and rich ornamentation. The white-gray veined marble top is framed by a beautifully open-worked brass gallery. Directly below is a striking decorative frieze with gilded scroll motifs and foliate ornaments. Four gracefully turned legs, furnished with decorative accents, connect the top to a characteristically shaped between-rail. The elegant, outwardly curved feet give the whole a particularly airy and balanced silhouette. It stands stable and sturdy. Features * Style: French, Louis XVI style * Period: probably circa 1880 to 1920 * Shape: octagonal * Materials: wood, marble and gold-colored metal fittings, presumably brass * Notable features: openwork gallery, richly decorated frieze, four turned legs and formed between-rail Condition Beautiful authentic appearance with signs of use corresponding to the presumed age. The marble top shows light superficial marks. On the wood, especially on the between-rail and the feet, wear and small damages are visible. The decorative ornaments are largely present and give the piece its characteristic look. The photos are an integral part of the description.
