The N°08 is the most versatile model in the historic Opinel collection: thanks to its balanced size and light weight, it is perfect for daily use, excursions, camping, trekking, mushroom picking, picnics, and convivial moments. The 8.5 cm blade is made of European-origin Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, hardened to 55-57 HRC, an alloy developed to offer an excellent balance between cutting ability, edge durability, and corrosion resistance. Its high wear resistance allows the blade to retain its edge over time even after regular use on demanding materials, while stainless steel requires minimal maintenance under normal use conditions. The handle, 10.9 cm long, is made from premium French oak wood, a hard and durable species naturally rich in tannins that make it particularly protected against insects and fungi.
