Luc Best – Superman from Delft – Delft Icons – Limited Edition Two visual worlds that could hardly be more different meet in a single image. “Spiderman from Delft” belongs to Luc Best’s “Delft Icons” series. The internationally recognisable superhero imagery is combined with the refined blue-and-white ornamentation of traditional Delft ceramics. The contrast is deliberate. A figure associated with movement, metropolitan life and modern entertainment suddenly appears inside a visual language rooted in centuries of European craftsmanship. This collision of historical decoration and contemporary popular culture transforms the familiar subject and creates a work that is humorous, decorative and instantly recognisable. Technique: Fine Art Giclée Paper: Premium museum-quality paper Image size: approx. 30 × 30 cm on A3+ sheet Edition: Worldwide edition of only 25 copies + 3 Artist Proofs Authentication: Individually hand-signed and numbered; certificate of authenticity included. An unusual crossover for collectors of contemporary Pop Art, comics and modern design. Luc Best’s work combines digital collage, photography, graphic design and traditional artistic techniques.
