Oskar Koller (1925-2004) - Blumenstock (Blumenstrauß)

Oskar Koller (1925-2004) - Blumenstock (Blumenstrauß)

Oskar Koller (1925 Erlangen – 2004 Fürth) ranks among the significant German watercolorists of the postwar period. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg and a Paris scholarship in 1957, he developed an independent visual language between figuration and abstraction. The work presented here is a typical watercolor and gains its strength from the confident yet brisk brushwork of the artist. The flowers at various points are suggested as highlights, with the watercolor almost teetering on the edge of abstraction. Overall dimensions: 50 x 40 cm Image dimensions: 33 x 22 cm The painting is sold with a silvered frame by Conzen, Düsseldorf. The piece is in an age-appropriate very good condition.
