Ottoman wedding belt – black cabochon - Ottoman (No reserve price)

An antique ceremonial women's belt of Ottoman/Balkan tradition, intended for a wedding or festive outfit. The decorative part consists of numerous bands and articulated metal plates, adorned with repeated floral and geometric patterns. The elements form a broad flexible band bordered by small relief motifs. In the center lies a richly worked circular medallion, set with a polished black cabochon. The belt also features an extensible section made of articulated metal slats, as well as an adjustable closure by leather strap and metal buckle. This construction suggests a piece from the late Ottoman tradition or early 20th century.
