Ca. AD 1 - 200 . An over life-size marble torso of Meleager, depicted nude with a muscular physique and a mantle draped over the shoulders. The broad chest and abdomen are finely modelled, with pronounced pectoral muscles, a recessed navel and a carefully carved iliac crest. The mantle is fastened at the right shoulder by a circular brooch and falls in deep, overlapping folds across the upper chest, leaving the torso exposed. At the back, the drapery descends diagonally across the shoulders and converges in broad folds at the waist. The hips are slightly inclined, suggesting a contrapposto stance.
