Pablo Palazuelo (1915–2007) was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and engraver, widely regarded as one of the great masters of geometric abstraction in the 20th century. Initially trained in architecture, he redirected his career toward the visual arts, developing a unique style dubbed "transgeometría," a visual investigation focused on rhythm, line, and the hidden patterns of nature. Biography and Key Trajectory • Training and Paris: After his initial studies in architecture in Madrid and the United Kingdom, he moved to Paris in 1948 on a government scholarship. There he distanced himself from the Franco regime and came into direct contact with the European abstract vanguards. • Recognitions: Throughout his career he received highly prestigious awards, such as the Kandinsky Prize in 1952, the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts in 1982, the National Prize for Plastic Arts, and the Velázquez Prize in 2004. • Final years: He returned to Spain permanently in 1969. He spent his last decades tirelessly working in his studio until his death in Galapagar, Madrid, in October 2007."
