Pair of Ardalt Bisque Porcelain Nodder Figurines

A pair of Japanese bisque porcelain nodder figurines in the Chinoiserie style, depicting a seated man and woman in traditional attire. Each figure features articulated heads and hands designed to sway, connected by internal metal wires and weighted porcelain counterweights. The polychrome decoration includes white robes with raised dot detailing, magenta trousers with gilt motifs, and lime green cuffs. The male figurine has a long mustache and topknot, while the female figurine has blonde hair with pink pins; both hold small fans. The underside of each base bears a circular stamp with a crown and shield containing the letters AP, surrounded by the name ARDALT.
