Pair of Bronze Buddhist Monks Thailand

Each finely cast figure depicted in a serene, devotional posture with downcast eyes and a tranquil expression, dressed in elaborately draped monastic robes with incised linear borders. The surfaces retain rich, warm dark patination accented with remnants of original gilding and ritual pigments in the folds of the garments. The figures are naturally modeled with shaved heads and distinct, individualized contemplative visages, capturing the quiet reverence characteristic of traditional Southeast Asian Buddhist sculpture.
