Pakistan - Carpet - 190 cm - 132 cm - Wool from Pakistan

Two longitudinal rows of octagonal red pattern fields characterize this handwoven wool rug from Pakistan. In each field lies an elongated geometric ornament with dark areas and light contours. Narrow striped bands and transverse diamond shapes divide the gaps. Beige, antique pink, and ochre details complement the vivid red. A broad, multi-part border surrounds the inner field. Small diamonds, angles, and finely drawn lines repeat themselves on a dark ground. The different patterned bands form a clearly structured frame and echo the colors of the center. A narrow antique pink outer edge and light fringes on both short sides complete the design. With its dimensions of 190 × 132 cm this rectangular Oriental rug is suited for the area in front of a small sofa, a reading corner, or the bedroom. Beige upholstery fabrics reflect the light contours of the pattern, while dark wooden furniture complement the border. Individual red or ochre cushions create a connection to the interior. Alongside plain furniture, the regular geometric motif comes into its own particularly well.
