Pallasite Sericho Pallasite Pendant - Height: 7 cm - Width: 3.2 cm - 22.2 g

100% authentic Sericho pallasite Pendant. Very nicely framed with high quality pallasite. Chain is not included in this sale. "Pallasites" are meteorites that are very rare and in which olivines are mixed in a metallic matrix. They originate from the mantle of large asteroids and constitute only 1.7% of known meteorites. Scientists believe they originated from the violent collisions of early asteroids, either at the core-mantle boundary or through impact-mixing, about 4.5 billion years ago. This pallasite was initially named Habaswein, a town near the first discovered fragments, but eventually the meteorite was officially named Sericho, the area in Kenya where the impact occurred. A spectacular specimen to add to your collection.
