The study of form merges with the study of pose, always in balance. By shaping the raw material, clay, the artist gives life to a body and a pose crystallized in time. Yet, the female body exudes freedom. The artistic and versatile talent of Paolo Desario shines powerfully through his works, releasing a vitality almost tangible. His inspiration stems from an inner search with ancient and primordial echoes, as suggested by the sinuous female torsos and winged figures. He manages to fuse reality and transcendence through ever-new insights, knowing how to compose an original synthesis between the individual predilection for the essentiality of forms and the most careful contemporary plastic research. Sculptor and painter, Paolo Desario was born in Barletta, in Apulia, and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari in the sculpture school of Amerigo Tot. He lives and works in Barletta, has taught Plastic Disciplines at the State Art High School “Sacro Cuore” of Cerignola and at the Art High School of Corato. He boasts an artistic career started almost 50 years ago, dedicating himself to sculpture and painting, and participating in numerous national and international solo and group exhibitions.
