The sea, villages, and the countryside occupy an important place in his art. His paintings are characterized by bright colors and spontaneous brushwork. He is also interested in the effects of light and variations in the atmosphere. Paul Charavel exhibited in various salons and galleries of his time. His style remains close to plein air painting. He died in 1961, leaving a body of work primarily devoted to French landscapes.
