All auctions / Contemporary Art / Paul Insect (1971) - LDN - Paris (set of 3 colourways)
LDN - Paris, the three colourways (pink and green, orange, blue) of the mini print series Paul Insect made for his exhibition There's More Upstairs at Allouche Gallery, Paris, in 2019. Each sheet sets a woman's gaze in halftone, lifted from vintage fashion imagery, against flat organic shapes. Heritage Auctions describes the series as a "variant test edition never offered for sale and produced in very limited quantities", which is why the prints carry no edition number. Each sheet is hand-signed, dated and titled in pencil. The three prints are float-mounted together in one white frame with an orange mount. Acquired directly from the gallery in June 2019. Publisher: none, made for the Allouche Gallery exhibition, Paris Condition: excellent Shipping: tracked and insured, framed, in a rigid box with corner protection About the artist Paul Insect, a British artist born in 1971, signs his work PINS. He came out of the 1990s London street art scene and worked with Banksy on Santa's Ghetto in Bethlehem. His 2007 show Bullion at Lazarides, London, was bought in full by Damien Hirst before it opened. He pairs vintage halftone faces with flat organic shapes.
