Each an oil on panel mounted to burlap, 2006, both signed at lower right, signed and inscribed to the verso, presented in uniform custom framing. Panels 9 1/2 x 9 1/2 in.; Frame dimensions of each 19 x 18 in. Pavel Nikolaev is a Russian contemporary painter born in Moscow in 1958. He pursued artistic training while studying engineering at the Moscow Institute of Instrument Engineering and subsequently worked at a scientific research institute, where he explored the psychological effects of color, light, and geometry. Active as an artist since the 1980s, Nikolaev developed a practice encompassing abstract, conceptual, and figurative painting, as well as sculpture and metalwork. His work has been exhibited internationally, including in Russia, the United States, France, Germany, and Australia, and is represented in museum and private collections across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Good estate condition.
