Pendant - 18 kt. Yellow gold - Art Nouveau 18k Gold

Beautiful French Belle Époque / Art Nouveau oval pendant, circa 1900. Featuring a hand-painted Limoges enamel plaque on copper, depicting a young woman in profile with long blonde hair and a green laurel branch, on a burgundy foil background with gold paillons. Traditional émail peint technique. The reverse is in translucent red enamel and signed directly in gold letters: R. BLANCHER / LIMOGES - not under glass, original firing signature. This is the Blancher family - Ernest Blancher (1855-1935), master French enameller who succeeded the workshops of F. Lot and Louis Dalpayrat in Limoges and exhibited at the Universal Exposition of 1889. His son Robert Blancher (1895-1975) continued the workshop. Mount in 18k yellow gold (750/1000) with French eagle's head hallmark. Fine decoration with inner twisted wire and outer coiled / gadrooned border, typical of French 1900 jewelry. Large bail.
