Penderyn - Bryn Terfel

A collection of five bottles from Penderyn's renowned "Icons of Wales" series, Wales's best-known whisky distillery. Each release in this series honours a Welsh icon, event, or piece of history, and is issued individually as a limited release. This lot includes five different numbers from the series, all unopened and never touched, with perfect fill levels. No. 5 – Bryn Terfel (without original box) Named after the celebrated Welsh opera singer Bryn Terfel. Matured in ex-bourbon casks, natural colour, non-chill-filtered. 70cl, 41% ABV. Nose: soft and creamy, honey, vanilla ice cream, a trace of banana chips. Palate: rich and round, fruity with sweet apple, vanilla and banana split. Finish: honey and cream soda with spicy wood. No. 9 – The Head Liner Honours David Lloyd George, Wales's only Prime Minister, whose Immature Spirits Act (1915) inadvertently laid the foundation for whisky's quality standards (a minimum maturation of 3 years and one day). Matured in Jamaican rum and ruby port casks. 70cl, 46% ABV. Nose: red berries, strawberries and cream, cranberry, light oak and vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon. Palate: rich, sweet dried fruits, salted caramel, floral honey and a spicy kick of black pepper. Finish: sweetness fading into a dry yet fruity note. No. 10 – Yma O Hyd Released to mark Wales's qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup (their first since 1958), created in partnership with the Football Association of Wales. Named after the patriotic anthem by Dafydd Iwan, adopted by Welsh supporters (the "Red Wall"). Matured in American rye casks. 70cl, 43% ABV. Nose: fragrant and floral with baking spices, toffee, caramel, baked apple and pear. Palate: smooth, sweet caramel, sultanas, baked apple with cinnamon, pepper and oak spice. Finish: caramel sweetness with herbal, peppery notes. No. 11 – Patagonia A collaboration between Penderyn and Argentina's La Alazana distillery, celebrating the Welsh settlers who emigrated to Patagonia in 1865 to preserve their language and culture — a community that today numbers around 50,000 people of Welsh descent. A blend of Penderyn whisky with single malt from Patagonia, matured in American and French oak, non-chill-filtered. 43% ABV. Nose: sweet and floral, orchard fruit, vanilla, honey and caramel. Palate: honey, apple tart, pear, vanilla, oak, cinnamon, pepper, cloves, almond and toffee. Finish: dried fruit with gentle spice. No. 12 – Copperopolis Dedicated to the industrial history of Swansea, which from 1720 accounted for 50% of the world's copper smelting and 90% of the UK's output — hence the nickname "Copperopolis". Penderyn's new Swansea distillery is housed in the historic Powerhouse building of the old copperworks. Finished in sweet red wine casks. 70cl, 46% ABV. Nose: floral and fruity, orange blossom, peach, cherry, orange peel, vanilla and honey. Palate: creamy, caramel and honey sweetness, dried fruit (raisins, figs), light oak spice. Finish: dry oak with citrus sweetness and cocoa. Condition: all five bottles are unopened, untouched, with perfect fill levels. Bottle No. 5 (Bryn Terfel) does not come with its original box; [add here whether the other four are still in their original boxes].
