Pere Colldecarrera (1932-?) - La Moixina (Olot)

Beautiful oil on canvas painting by the renowned Catalan artist Pere Colldecarrera i Camps, a prominent figure and continuator of the famous Olot landscape school (La Garrotxa). The artwork sublimely captures the poetic and melancholic atmosphere of a woodland floor immersed in the morning mist. Colldecarrera demonstrates his extraordinary mastery in treating filtering light and chromatic rendering: the foreground is dominated by a rich carpet of autumn leaves in warm tones of ochre and burnt sienna, featuring majestic tree trunks wrapped in vivid green moss. In the background, the woods fade into a delicate palette of misty greys and whites, creating a suggestive and deep aerial perspective. Defined by critics as a "lyricist of nature", the artist successfully translates natural reality into pure visual emotion, making this painting a highly charming piece, ideal for collectors of 20th-century European landscape art.The artwork is signed on the bottom left.
