PHILIPPINES. Manila. Carnival Silver and Gilt Bronze Medal, 1908. NGC MS-64. Honeycutt-82A. Dimensions: 48 x 44 mm. By Scwaabs & S. Co, Milwaukee. Obverse: Four celebratory figures in costume standing facing center with palm fronds on gilt bronze central medallion, legend around "PHILIPPINE CARNIVAL FEB.-MANILA-4-8", ornate silver border around; Reverse: Central medallion blank, name of maker in left field "SCWAAB S. & S. CO., MILWAUKEE, WIS.". This beautifully preserved example displays bright intact gilding with frosty devices while the outer ornate silver border displays rich slate patina in the protected areas with brighter coloration on the high points.
