Charming abstract portrait entitled "The Man," created in color lithography by the artist Pierre Dmitrienko (1925-1974). Limited edition of 100 copies, this one numbered 99/100. Title: "The Man" Artist: Pierre Dmitrienko (1925-1974) Technique: Lithography Style: Abstract Signature: Numbered and signed in pencil by the artist Format: 63 x 50 cm Condition: Excellent condition. Slight back offset with no serious damage. The series of "Heads" and the "Executed": The Man is part of a major body of works from this period (including the series Hostages, Unknown Soldiers, or the Executed). Pierre Dmitrienko (1925–1974) was a French painter, printmaker, and sculptor born in Paris to a Russian father and a Greek mother. After studying architecture at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he turned to painting and abstract art in the 1940s. His style evolved from a Cubist-influenced period toward a more lyrical abstraction, then toward darker and more austere works.
