Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland - Vase - 0.82/4 - Faience. - Monumental Gouda Vase

For sale is an impressive and rare, monumental show vase from the renowned Dutch manufacturer Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland (PZH) in Gouda. With a notable height of 38 cm and a diameter of 22 cm, this chalice-form vase is an absolute splendor of the era. The underside is fully hand-signed and bears the sought-after decoration "Rhodian Holland". The Gouda-typical matte "Rhodian" glaze process delights with its silky-matte, slightly relief-like surface. The decoration shows a rhythmic, oriental Art Deco pattern of stylized floral triangles and ornaments in rust red, ochre and deep cobalt blue, embedded in a dark-green patinated ground. Hand-signed with decoration name, model number and the painter's monogram "F" / "FL" on the underside.
