Vintage - free-form ceramic bowl with drip glaze in turquoise and aubergine Vallauris style France, around 1960-1970 Decorative ceramic bowl with an organic, free-form rim. The piece is finished with a rich, glossy drip glaze in turquoise, bright blue and aubergine-purple over a dark brown base color. The glaze layers blend into one another, creating a lively, almost landscape-like effect, with a speckled/crackling texture characteristic of handmade studio pottery from that period. The interior shows a dark glossy glaze with a greenish, lace-like structure. The shape and glaze technique strongly recall work from the French Vallauris tradition (or similar Italian/Belgian studios), where this type of colorful, lava-flow-like glazes were popular.
