Pleasanton, Texas. $20 1929 Ty. 1. Fr. 1802-1. First NB. Charter #8103. PCGS Banknote Choice Fine 15. A tough note from Atascosa County issued under the Series of 1929. This evenly circulated T1 $20 issued by the First National Bank of Pleasanton (Charter# 8103) is one of just ten non-institutional notes recorded on this institution by the National Bank Note Census and one of four recorded for the Series of 1929. To collectors who specialize in Texas Nationals, it is no secret that intense demand has followed pieces from countless charters on the state for notes issued under this specific series imprint in recent years. Yet the last offering we can trace for the Series of 1929 on this specific bank outside of the T1 $10 pedigreed to Copeland that sold a few months back dates back to 2012 and bidders could very well make our estimate look academic by the time bidding has ended. Estimate: $1,500 - $2,500. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
